Born and raised in New York, Dr. Robert Ozer began his academic career at the State University of New York at Binghamton. After earning his degree, he spent three years working as a research biologist before deciding to pursue dentistry. He went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he received his dental education, and later completed a General Practice Residency through Metropolitan Hospital and Bird S. Coler Hospital within the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation system.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Ozer has built a reputation for providing individualized dental care that prioritizes each patient’s unique needs. He believes quality dentistry requires time, attention, and a personalized approach, which is why he dedicates focused appointment time to every patient he treats. By incorporating advanced dental technology, modern techniques, and high-quality materials into his practice, he strives to deliver exceptional cosmetic and restorative results.
Dr. Ozer’s professional accomplishments have earned him recognition in both Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals and Who’s Who in the East. He also maintains active membership in several respected professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Second District Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Ozer has devoted much of his life to family and community service. He and his wife have been married for more than four decades, and he is the proud father of two children, father-in-law to a wonderful daughter-in-law, and grandfather to Jacob Nathaniel Ozer.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dr. Ozer played baseball at the collegiate level and later spent many years giving back to youth athletics. He coached Little League baseball for 11 years, served as League Commissioner for six years, and became well known throughout the community as the “voice of South Orange/Maplewood baseball.”
His commitment to service extends beyond sports. Dr. Ozer served as Scoutmaster of Troop 20 and spent many years on the Executive Board of his temple. Together with his family, he established and operated a local collection site supporting the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s annual Thanksgiving Turkey and Food Drive for 15 years. For more than a decade afterward, the family continued those efforts in support of the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges, expanding the initiative to include winter coat donations for those in need.
